We had lots of new and returning students join us this month from many different countries…

What’s on in October
Gold Coast 500 Supercars Championship 28-30 October
The Supercars are back! This is an annual motor racing event for Supercars, held on the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit. A big weekend of fun!

Coolangatta Gold Championship 15-16 October
One of the most challenging and prestigious endurance races in surf sports.
You can go and spectate the race over the weekend down at Coolangatta Beach. An event not to be missed!

Resume Writing Workshop – Every Friday 11am
This workshop is designed to give students advice on how to set out their resume to apply for jobs on the Gold Coast. All new and current students are welcome to attend!
Scaffolding at Shed 101
At the end of the month Painting and Decorating students will be learning how to erect and dismantle scaffolding at Shed 101!

What’s New
Update to Student Visa work rights
The Government has announced an end date to the full time work while studying. After the 30 June 2023, the number of hours a Student visa holder will be allowed to work will again be capped to 40 hours a fortnight. For more information please click here.
World Map
We are very excited about our new World Map in the reception area which displays all the countries our students are from with coloured stickers. We invite all students to come to reception when you’re next in class and place a sticker over your home town or city!

Fun fact: In 2015 I lived in Milan for 3 months to study Italian & travel.
Fave cuisine: I love Japanese, Mexican and anything seafood.
Nationality: I’m Australian with Italian heritage.
Fave past time: Going for a big hike through the beautiful hinterland.

Fun fact: I practised Martial Arts for over 15 years (Kung Fu) which I graduated first dan black belt at 20. One of the best practices I had so far in my life.

Job role & how Gabriel can help you: My role at 101 Marketing is Regional Manager. I help agents and students with information about our courses and schools, assisting them from the first inquiry until they start their course with us.

Latitud Siete Photography & Videography
Sergio Amate, Certificate IV in Photography & Digital Imaging, has been a freelance filmmaker and photographer for 6 years. His experiences ranges from DoP in short films, to wedding photographer, head of production in shootings for commercials, videoclips, camera operator in TV, feature films, events… Wherever there’s a camera, he’s there!
He is also a certificate drone pilot with EASA, allowing him to fly under commercial contexts and multiple locations with drones up to 25kg.
